Nico Hadyk was recently diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. At just 15, Nico has already begun the long road of chemotherapy treatments, which require him to be hospitalized every other week for several days at a time.  As you can imagine, this sudden diagnosis has turned their world upside down.

The financial strain is real. The family’s insurance plan includes a $20,000 deductible that they are responsible for before coverage kicks in—and that deductible will reset in September when the new fiscal year begins.  On top of that, there are many expenses insurance doesn’t cover, like travel, meals away from home, and day-to-day essentials during treatment.

That’s where Ava’s Avengers, and heroes like you come in.  As Nico continues his chemotherapy treatments and undergoes surgery, he will also have to navigate a rigorous and difficult rehab process.
