Why WE #STANDUP for Mental Health!
Team Z is made up of Zachary’s parents, Steve and Mannie, and his sister, Samantha. We #STANDUP to honor Zachary’s life, his courage, his kindness, and his boundless zest for living. Zachary had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued—and his spirit continues to inspire us every day.
We stand up not only in his memory, but for every young person navigating the challenges of mental health. We believe that every youth deserves support, understanding, and hope. Through the StandUp campaign, we hope to transform stigma into conversation, despair into connection, and isolation into community.
Every step we take, every dollar we raise, and every story we share carries forward Zachary’s legacy and supports the Z‑Cares Foundation in its mission to empower youth, foster resilience, and build a world where mental health is understood and celebrated.

Walking/hiking mile update….
Self care is very important not only for someone suffering with mental health but also for those that support those suffering. Science has shown us that the simple act of going outside and spending time in nature can provide numerous mental health benefits.
During our #StandUP month we try to model that by getting outdoors as often as possible to get our miles in. We enjoy taking photos during our outings to remind us that we were present during that time. I’ll try to put together more photos to create a compilation of some of our favorites.
