Wellfleet Great Pond Mermaids

The Wellfleet Great Pond Mermaids go back 25 years when Joan Nagle started a swimming and water exercise class through the Wellfleet Council on Aging (Adult Community Center). Today 49 people are signed up for the class, now taught by 9 volunteers. The goals of the class include aerobic and strengthening exercises in the pond two times a week, as well as comradery and fun. Many friendships throughout the years started in this class. Hip Hip Hooray!
