This year, the ZT21 Awareness Team walks with a heavy heart but a grateful spirit. For 14 years, Jojo never missed a single Buddy Walk. She was more than a friend, more than an adopted Aunty; she was Ziya’s biggest cheerleader and a constant light in our lives.

As we prepare for the 2026 Buddy Walk, we do so in her honor.

To honor her incredible legacy of love and her 14-year "perfect attendance" streak, Jojo’s family has requested that donations be made to Ziya’s team in lieu of flowers. Every dollar raised here celebrates the life of a woman who showed up for our community every single year. 

Please know that any contribution is deeply appreciated; no donation is too small or too large. Your gift supports the Down Syndrome Association in funding vital local and national programs—including new parent resources, camps, education, and job placement—that help individuals reach their full potential through inclusion and community support.

While we always walk to raise awareness for Down syndrome, this year is extra special. This would have been Jojo’s 15th year as part of this annual celebration. In her honor, we are inviting all of Jojo’s family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her to join us in person to walk by our side.

Note on Donations: Because the 2026 Buddy Walk website does not officially launch until June, this page is currently tied to our 2025 campaign. Please rest assured that all donations made here in Jojo's memory will be manually moved by DSAct to the 2026 ZT21 Awareness Team total as soon as the new site goes live.
