Do Good Fund

Matthew “Goober” Goodman, 9/5/95-7/8/23

Matthew, a hero to our city, joined us on our climb the last two years. This year, Matt will again have his own fundraising page for the 2023 climb. The money raised will go to the Warriors Always Rise, Do Good Fund. The Do Good Fund was established in Matt's honor and will provide funding for trainings that benefit First Responders, help cover non-standardized equipment and provide mental health retreats that directly help counter the stress and PTS that follows the job. 

Every team member of Matt’s knew him personally and every donation raised by them will be transferred to Matt’s overall goal.

Matt Goodman joined the Kannapolis Fire Department in 2021, where he was assigned to Station 3 in the Royal Oaks community of the city.  Matt also served as a firefighter with Fire Departments in Iredell County including volunteering with Mount Mourne Fire Department and as a part-time firefighter with the Lake Norman Fire and Rescue Department. Matt had also worked as a firefighter with the Denver Fire Department in Denver, N.C.
