Los Pajaritos Alegres de Novato Baylands

Takes place Sep 15 - Oct 15, 2024

Why We Bird for Point Blue

Join us for an exciting morning of birding at the Novato Baylands, as the only officially bilingual team in Point Blue’s 46th Annual Rich Stallcup Birdathon! We will meet at 9am on October 5th at the back of the parking lot at 7 Hamilton Landing, Novato, CA and walk at a relaxed pace along the Bay Trail until 12pm looking for as many species of birds as we can find as a team, along with other wildlife and special wetland plants. The event will be in English and Spanish, and anyone is welcome to join – including families with young children, small groups, those with no birding experience, and seasoned birders. Binoculars, bird books, and spotting scopes will be provided (bringing your own binoculars is still a good idea), plus snacks and drinks part-way through the walk. We recommend bringing your own water bottle, sun protection, and comfortable walking shoes. Some of the birds we might see include spectacular flocks of sandpipers, hundreds of migratory ducks, giant White Pelicans, and tiny Snowy Plovers. Come bird with us and learn about the special salt marsh ecosystem – we hope to see you there!

Our team is thrilled to be participating in Point Blue's 2024 Rich Stallcup Bird-A-Thon! Now in its 46th year, this event is an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow as a nature-loving community and to raise conservation funds to secure a healthy planet. Our team's goal is to see as many bird species as possible at the Novato Baylands on October 5th. Please consider helping our team members reach our fundraising goal by making a donation or by pledging a dollar amount per bird seen.

Thank you for your generous support of our team and help in spreading the word. To learn more about Point Blue Conservation Science and their climate-smart conservation initiatives, visit their website at www.pointblue.org.
