The Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center hosts the Million Dollar Bike Ride event to raise money for research in rare diseases. The Bloom Syndrome Association is proud to participate! We’re riding to raise awareness and critical research funding for Bloom syndrome—an ultra-rare, inherited condition that dramatically increases cancer risk and affects nearly every system of the body. Please consider donating to our cause and being a part of our team.
People with Bloom syndrome face a lifetime of medical uncertainty: frequent infections, growth challenges, sun-sensitive skin, and the looming threat of early-onset cancers. And yet, despite these challenges, they, and their families and loved ones, are remarkably resilient. We ride for them.
In 2025, your donation will directly benefit the Bloom Syndrome Association's research efforts. This year, we will use funds to help launch a virtual tumor board and study how individuals with Bloom syndrome respond to different cancer treatments - so that care can be more personalized, effective, and safe. Thanks to the support of an anonymous donor, every dollar you give will be matched.
Join us by donating, riding, or cheering us on, and help us make a difference for those with Bloom syndrome.

Organizations participating in the 2025 Million Dollar Bike Ride will receive the funds raised by their team. Your donation plays a pivotal role, allowing organizations to not only support rare disease research, but make a direct impact on patients and families in their rare disease community. Thank you!
