Playing 100 holes of golf in one day, to support First Tee Greater Charleston!
In late September 2020, we will be participating in the "100 Hole Hike" Golf Marathon to raise money and awareness for First Tee of Greater Charleston. The mission of First Tee is to positively impact the lives of our local youth by providing structured educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
To support our team, you can pledge any amount towards any golfer listed below for each hole of golf they play. For example, if you pledge $1 per hole and the golfer completes 100 holes, that’s $100 towards the mission. You can also make one-time flat donations. We will be playing from sun-up to sun-down, walking 20+ miles, and taking hundreds of swings. It will be a fun, but challenging day and your support will help keep us going!

Well, I survived. As promised, a full report is below. Thank you all for your support! All 5 rounds were in the 70s, followed by an Even Par finishing 9. I made a total of 9 birdies, 5 Doubles, and 19 bogeys for an eventual 20 over par 409, All with ONE golf ball.I carried my normal standbag for all 100 holes, albeit with only 10 clubs towards the end, and walked 24.2 miles and over 60,000 steps. My Whoop tells me I burned 7,500 calories. I averaged 1 hour and 56 minutes per round and was done with hole 99 at 5:45 PM. After finishing my 99th hole, I drove to Charleston Municipal to play my 100th hole at the 1st; it made it particularly special to have my family there to witness the last hole on a course that's main mission is accessibility for everyone - Fore Y'all. A couple high/low lights from the day - Upon encountering the King Tide on my 63rd, I had to remove my socks and shoes and played the next hole barefooted, and made birdie! Bucky Dudley, Executive Director of the The First Tee of Greater Charleston, delivered me a fresh pair of shoes and socks for the final 36 holes. As my body began to fail me in my last nine, I hit one of the worst tee shots I've ever witnessed on my 97th hole and ended up 100 yards off line. I found a way to get it back to the fairway, wedged it on, and made the putt for par. Most importantly, I've raised over $7,500 for The First Tee in an effort to make golf more accessible to every child in Charleston. Thank you again for your support in this adventure; it was equal parts physical, mental, spiritual, and educational. And all fun.Best regards,Troy
