Zac's Vision is Our Mission

Welcome to our team fundraising page for the Don't Run Alone 5K, benefiting The Zac Plantz Foundation.

The Zac Plantz Foundation honors the life and legacy of our dear friend, Zac Plantz. Zac was an impactful fundraiser and advocate for mental health awareness. In November 2020, his iconic mustache and dedicated running routine helped him single-handedly raised over $140,000 to support Movember, an annual event to raise awareness for mental health. That same month, Zac moved on from this life, but his spirit lives on through the this important cause he brought to the attention of his family and friends.

The Don’t Run Alone 5K, which is held annually on World Mental Health Day, supports the efforts of the Zac Plantz Foundation, honors Zac’s memory, and continues his legacy. Last year, the Zac Plantz Foundation raised nearly $100,000, which funded scholarships for high school students and grants for organizations like Athletes for Hope and Movember.

Please support our DC Team by joining us on our walk/run to raise awareness for World Mental Health Day, making a donation to our team’s page, and/or spreading the word about our efforts.

For more information about Zac’s legacy and the Zac Plantz Foundation, please visit: the Zac Plantz Foundation.

Thank you for your support. Together, we're putting a little more good into the world and keeping Zac's vision alive.

On November 26, 2020, a foundation rose from the ashes of the tragic passing of Zachary Jacob Plantz.

In his short time on Earth, Zac made an indelible mark as a son, brother, mentor, friend, and, above all, a shepherd. He was a natural leader, not because he took up the mantle from the front, but because he gathered people who risked being left behind and carried them with him.

Many people were cared for and inspired by Zac, and we continue to draw on his strength and love to fulfill our own potential. The Zac Plantz Foundation is devoted to solidifying his memory through Zac’s greatest life passions: faith-based education, leadership & service, and health & wellness.

Zac shepherded a huge, diverse flock, and by taking up his mantle, we will continue to honor his memory through our care for others.
