Support our team in the Great Wisconsin Birdathon!

OUR MISSION - Help Support Wisconsin Birds Statewide and Close to Home! Supporting the Pewees helps birds statewide and also helps support welcoming diverse green birding close to home and preserving and restoring urban natural areas and parks.

OUR TEAM - The Pedaling Paddling Prius Pewees have been doing Green Birding by bike, kayak, and hybrid car for the last 10 years and focus our birding on nearby urban birding hotspots. The Pewees 2022 Birdathon was all day Saturday May 7 starting sunrise at the Cherokee Marsh North Unit parking lot and birding mostly northside urban Madison with nearby side trips to get lake, field and shorebirds. Donations help Wisconsin Bird Conservation and Madison FUN outreach and education. We are also part of Sumner Matteson's River Raprtors. Here is our team report.

REPORT SUMMARY

The Great Wisconsin Birdathon Pedaling Paddling Prius Pewees green birding team had some super birding experts and perfect weather Saturday May 7 for green birding in and near northside Madison in Dane County.  The team split up to cover several locations (some more than once) and in spite of being a slow day for bird activity the combined total was 95 species!

This report and some pictures for your enjoyment are posted on the Great Wisconsin Birdathon Pewees team page and Madison FUN and Madison Bird City Facebook pages.  Please donate to the http://wibirdathon.org Pedaling Paddling Prius Pewees team to help protect Wisconsin birds!

Your Donation Makes a Difference For Birds

Donations made to the Great Wisconsin Birdathon support the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin’s Bird Protection Fund, which has given out over $1.2 million towards Wisconsin’s highest priority bird conservation projects since its inception in 2009.

Whether it's creating Piping Plover habitat, rearing Whooping Crane chicks, monitoring Kirtland's Warbler nests, supporting community initiatives for bird-friendly neighborhoods, engaging new and underrepresented voices in the birding community, building impactful collaborations to protect Wisconsin's Important Bird Areas, protecting our neotropical migrants on their long migratory journeys to Central America ... the Bird Protection Fund is there to help.

Your donations make this work possible. Thank you for supporting on-the-ground conservation and being there #ForTheBirds!
