Why We Bird for Point Blue

Our team is thrilled to be participating in Point Blue's 2025 Rich Stallcup Bird-A-Thon! Now in its 47th year, this event is an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow as a nature-loving community and to raise conservation funds to secure a healthy planet. The goal is to identify as many bird species as possible in a 24-hour period between September 15 and October 15. Please consider helping our team members reach our fundraising goal by making a donation or by pledging a dollar amount per bird seen.

Thank you for your generous support of our team and help in spreading the word. To learn more about Point Blue Conservation Science and their climate-smart conservation initiatives, visit their website at www.pointblue.org.

Year 2 was a success! On October 11th, 19 team members of Los Pajaritos Alegres de Novato Baylands had a lot of fun finding 56 species of birds in three hours of birding along the Bay Trail at Hamilton Wetlands and Pacheco Pond. Matt also added an additional 14 species a few hours later at Las Gallinas Sanitary District in San Rafael, bringing our total to 70. This was a bilingual public event, so our species list includes both the English and Spanish names, along with the total count of individuals for each species. Thanks again to all our donors, we hope you enjoy looking through our list!
