Dunes Before Dawn

We’re Dunes Before Dawn, and on June 21 we’ll take on one of golf’s toughest challenges: walking and playing 81 holes (the most played in 2025 so here we come!!) at Chambers Bay from sunrise to sunset in support of First Tee Greater Seattle.

What started a few years ago as one of the first all-female teams to complete the Chambers Bay Solstice has grown into something bigger than a single team. New women have joined the challenge each year, and our team has evolved along the way, but the mission remains the same.

We’re here because representation matters.

When women show up in spaces where they haven’t always been represented, it creates possibilities for others to do the same. Every year, more women step onto the first tee, take on this challenge, and help redefine what belongs in the game of golf.

Through First Tee Greater Seattle, young people gain confidence, character, resilience, and life skills that extend far beyond the golf course. While these programs benefit all kids, a big part of why we take on this challenge is for the girls.

We want girls to see women showing up. Leading. Competing. Supporting one another. Returning year after year. Because sometimes the most powerful message isn’t what we say it’s what we’re willing to do.

Whether it’s a coach, a mentor, a playing partner, or simply someone willing to go first, representation creates possibility. If our team walking 81 holes helps even one girl believe she belongs in this game, every step will be worth it.

The Solstice is one day. The impact lasts far longer.
