We are excited to join this incredible initiative! Casita Copán, a non-profit in Copán Ruinas, Honduras, helps prevent child abandonment and is helping families stay together in the face of poverty in Honduras. We are racing so Casita Copán can continue this important work in the community building a brighter future for coming generations. What does "Unite the Village" mean?
Our Mission: To prevent child abandonment by nurturing orphaned and vulnerable children and supporting single mothers.
It Means Collaboration: Over ten years, Casita Copán has established strong connections within Copán and with amazing people across the world.
It Means Growth: Through their big dreams, our graduates become essential to their communities by giving back... many of them have returned to Casita!
How it Works:
1. Join a team, create an individual page, or create your own team.
2. Set a goal for how many miles you want to walk, run, or bike from July 17th through July 31st. You can use miles from your daily steps or commuter bike route or you can get out running on trails or cycling on bike paths and push yourself. Just count those miles and get your friends and family involved! Be active while supporting a cause you care about.
3. Promote your page via email and on social media and encourage others to join, donate, sponsor or pledge.
4. Track your miles from July 17th through July 31st and enter them in your fundraising page with updates for your donors.
5. Donate or Pledge to your favorite team or race participant or sign up as a Sponsor to provide critical ongoing support to preventing child abandonment in Honduras. Being a Sponsor means you get special access to updates about our mothers, kids, programs and plans for the future. Become part of Our Village!
