The Mount Diablo Bird Alliance pursues a mission similar to that of our neighbors in the Golden Gate BA, in our territory encompassing most of Contra Costa County. MDBA:

-Connects people of all ages to the fascinating world of birds with field trips, monthly educational meetings, and outreach to communities that historically have not had great opportunities to enjoy birds and nature;

- Works to protect, preserve and restore natural habitat through our conservation and advocacy programs;

- Builds and maintains nesting boxes at several locations in our territory;

- Supports scientific research---both financially and with volunteer labor---including an ongoing owl-banding program and a new project just getting underway that will band migrating birds as they pass through our territory.

MDBA is glad to join in this friendly challenge! We invite your pledges and donations, which will be divided equally between the MDBA and GGBA---two organizations with parallel missions, working for the benefit of habitats and communities that often overlap. You are welcome to pledge a small amount for each species of bird we ID (our goal is 150), or to make a fixed donation... or just to cheer us on! We're grateful for all support.
