When Dance is Life!

Islands by the Bay Festival supports and honors all heritages in the Pacific Rim. We support and perpetuate traditions from Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, Maori, Fiji, Guam, Philippines, Tahiti, and Cook Islands, and try to create space for learning, performance, and sharing of these cultures. Particularly in honor of AAPI Heritage Month, Islands by the Bay is sponsoring this AAPI Month-End Dance-a-thon to help prepare our communities for upcoming competitions and important performances and events that require travel and curated costuming. Our lineup of AAPI Emcee's, DJs, and Media Guests will help these participants which include dancers, singers, musicians, comedians, and spoken word artists from these Asian Pacific Islander communities who are looking to fundraise for their causes. "When Dance is Life" aims to increase visibility for PI artists while enabling them to support their endeavors in their crafts. We offer a full day of fun and food for the entire family!!
