My mother has been a birder for longer than I've been alive. Some of my very earliest memories of her involve pointing out gulls and grebes, herons and hawks, cranes and quail, and all the wild diversity of bird species around the Bay.

I distinctly remember the years she would trek out on her lunch breaks to find Peregrine Falcon and Red-Tailed Hawk nests anywhere they could be found in San Francisco, with any friends or strangers she could find along the way.

This year I'm fundraising in honor of her love of the Bay Area Birds.
