Raising funds for youth baseball in the UK
With Diamond Sports Society and The 108
Swinging for the fences for youth baseball!
At Diamond Sports Society and The 108, baseball is our passion, so we're embarking on a mission to grow the game in the UK.
Join with us as co-founder of The 108, Michael Wakelam, attempts to hit a home run - a 'Big Fly' - at Citi Field in New York, home of the New York Mets!
It's been said that hitting a home run is the hardest thing to do in sports. The home run encapsulates success, so what better way to raise money for youth baseball than to use the home run as the mechanism.
With the support of the New York Mets, Michael will get about half an hour at Citi Field to achieve the task.
You can support the cause in two ways - either a flat sum for the effort, or a per home run pledge.
All proceeds will go Diamond Sports Society, our UK charity helping to grow the game here in the UK through our Small Ball initiative, supported by MLB Europe. Funds will be used to pay for coaches, facilities, equipment and associated costs of growing baseball at a grass roots level.
