About these events
Come and enjoy a beautiful, guided nature walk at Tryon Creek State Natural Area. These walks are meant to be a safe space for Autistic individuals, their families, friends, and supporters to be together to enjoy and experience nature without any agenda and no judgment. The guided walks will be led by an Oregon Master Naturalist, Certified Interpretive Guide and former ASO Board member. Advance registration is required, but free.

Each guided Nature Walk is capped at 20 participants.
Advance registration is required but registration is FREE.
Important information:
We will meet at the Nature Center located off of the Terwilliger Boulevard entrance and begin the hike at 1 PM.
The guided nature walk will cover a distance of no more than 2 miles and will be flexible depending on the group preferences. Expect some hills! Participants are free to leave the walk at any time, for any reason.
Caregivers and supporters are welcome but must also register in advance so we can count them towards the limit.
For all age Nature Walks, all children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times throughout the walk. Childcare is NOT being provided for these events.
NO DOGS PLEASE, due to the size of the group. Services dogs who are task trained are welcome.
The trails are wide but unpaved.
Participation is at your own risk.
Please remember to:
Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes suitable for walking on varied terrains.
Bring water, snacks and any necessary medications.
Bring headphones or fidgets if needed. ASO may ALSO have these available.

FAQ's
Parking: Is there FREE parking available?
YES! Although Tryon Creek now has a parking fee, Oregon Parks Forever has generously provided 8 parking passes which are available to be used by ASO Nature Walk participants. One pass per vehicle is required. If more than 8 passes are needed, ASO will cover the cost of the additional day passes.
Registered attendees will receive a parking pass upon arrival at the park. Parking passes are loaned for the duration of the Nature Walk and must be returned afterward.
If you walk, bike, bus, or get dropped off at the park, you don't have to pay a parking fee!

If you prefer to purchase your own state parks parking pass, the cost is $10 per day, per vehicle for residents of Oregon, and $12 per day, per vehicle for non-residents. An annual parking permit for $30, or a 24-month parking permit is $50. The permit is transferable among vehicles.
Public Transportation: Is there a bus?
