2026 Today We Ride Challenge

Enabling the athlete in EVERY body.

For the past eight years, the Downhill Derelicts—together with our families, friends, colleagues, and compassionate strangers—have stood with Whistler Adaptive Sports Program to open the mountain to everyone. Because of this community, children, adults, veterans, and first responders with disabilities are discovering something powerful: the freedom, confidence, and joy that adaptive sports make possible.

The Today We Ride campaign exists to remove the barriers that stand in the way—physical, emotional, and financial. Every dollar given is more than a donation; it is a chance for someone to believe in themselves again, to awaken the athlete within all of us, to gain skills that carry into everyday life, and to feel included in a world that too often says “you can’t.”

We believe that real change happens when individuals come together. Our motto says it best: “The impact of every avalanche starts with a single snowflake.” One small act, one pledge, one moment of generosity can combine with others to create something unstoppable.

Since 2017, your support has helped us raise nearly $400,000 for adaptive sports. These funds have expanded access for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities and have helped veterans and first responders facing PTSD reconnect with their inner strength—the warrior and hero that lives on.

Now, we invite you to be part of the next chapter.

Support a Downhill Derelict by pledging as little as $0.01 for every 100 vertical feet they conquer in the 2026 Today We Ride Challenge, or make a one-time donation of any amount. No gift is too small. Every contribution matters.

Together, we don't just break down barriers; we unchain the human spirit.
Thank you for riding with us.
