Miles for Recovery and Community

Our Mission

Seven years ago, I stopped drinking. I didn’t have a clear plan. I just knew something needed to change. Movement and trail running became the way I found my way back to myself.

Through that journey, I found community at RUN TRG, the Portland Alano Club, and The Recovery Gym. These programs showed me that recovery can be built through connection, movement, and shared purpose.

Last year, we lost Brent Canode. Brent played a critical role in building and sustaining these programs, and his impact continues to be felt by thousands of people, myself included. The work he championed still exists, but it requires ongoing funding to continue serving those who need it most.

On April 28, 2026, I will run the Wildwood Trail end to end, roughly 30 miles, for my 7th annual run marking another year free from alcohol. This run is my way of honoring Brent’s legacy and helping ensure these programs can continue.

If you are able to donate, I am deeply grateful. If you want to run the full route with me, join for a few miles, cheer from the trail, or help spread the word, that support matters just as much. You do not need to be in recovery to participate. This is about believing in community and keeping these doors open.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
Annalou
