Share The Warmth
Emergency winter shelter at AmeriCorps St. Louis provides a warm and welcoming refuge when a night on the streets is a matter of life and death. All guests are treated with dignity and respect and welcomed without barriers or discrimination. Professional staff, supported by dedicated volunteers, leave the warmth of their homes to care for the most vulnerable of our city.
All proceeds of the Share the Warmth event support emergency winter shelter services provided at AmeriCorps St. Louis. The shelter is activated on nights of extreme cold between December and March. Guests receive two hot meals, clothing and medical support. AmeriCorps St. Louis provides the largest pop-up emergency shelter in St. Louis with a capacity of 80 beds, and is the only shelter to welcome guests with pets. During the 24-25 winter, 1,136 overnight stays were provided, supported by 900 volunteer hours.
