Unpaid internships are unjust and inequitable. We demand better for the future of museums. This Sweatober, we are moving to put an end to it. National EMP Network’s Death to Unpaid Internships initiative puts our words into action and we need your help. All funds will be used to fund internship stipends in 2022 and pilot our Dream Weavers intern coordinator program.
How to Participate
Sweatober is NEMPN's inaugural event to work towards the end of unpaid internships in the museum field.
We are counting minutes of activity! So you can pledge 200 minutes of activity in the month of October (that's 3 hours and 20 minutes!) doing your daily commute on bike or walking, your morning run, your app-based fitness classes, participating in the NEMPN Yoga Series, and so much more. Folks can participate individually, in a team, or just by making a general donation.
Let's sweat in style. NEMPN launched a special capsule collection on our Bonfire. But, don't hesitate to snag your favs. This special collection will be gone at the end of October!
Not interested in moving? You can make a general donation, buy a piece from our capsule collection, or spread the word! The more the merrier. It will take a lot to make change – but NEMPN believes that as a community, we can do it.
