To wrap up Autism Acceptance Month, Casey “Beefwater” Bay is walking 8 miles from the iHeartRadio studios in Tigard to the Moda Center!
On Wednesday, April 30, starting at 6am, Casey "Beefwater" Bay will take off on foot from the iHeartRadio studio, home of the Tanner, Drew & Laura morning show on 105.9 The Brew, and begin his 8-mile journey to the Moda Center, where he should arrive by 10am.
Along the way, he will stream his adventure on Instagram Live and will connect with Tanner, Drew & Laura over the phone throughout the morning.
As the father of an Autistic 19 year-old son, Casey's mission is to raise awareness, promote acceptance, and to raise funds for the Autism Society of Oregon. He hopes to do this while also reaching out to people in the Autism community to let them know that resources are available and that they are not alone.
105.9 The Brew is encouraging our listeners to make a donation to the Autism Society of Oregon to show support for Casey, his son, and the Autism community.
We also encourage people to make signs and step outside as Casey walks past their places of business or residence and to assemble at Moda Center to cheer him on when he reaches his destination at 10am.
The route: from Tigard, Casey will walk along 99W as it turns into Barbur Blvd, then onto SW 4th Avenue and thru downtown Portland, over to Naito Parkway, then across the Steel Bridge to Moda Center.
