Every child deserves a good pair of shoes
That's why the Washington DC Association community is coming together to ensure that the 6,500 students experiencing homelessness in DC Public Schools have a new pair of high-quality, well-fitting shoes for the upcoming school year. New shoes give kids the opportunity to participate more fully in school and free up resources their caregivers can use for other necessities.

What is Soles4theDistrict?
Soles4theDistrict is an Association led fundraising campaign to provide over 6500 kids experiencing homelessness in Washington DC with new shoes for the upcoming school year.

Why give shoes to kids without homes?
While many organizations are focused on the critical needs of food and shelter, school officials tell us shoes are essential for students to succeed in school.
A good pair of shoes can change a child’s future.
Kids who receive new shoes have more confidence, attend school more regularly, and are more physically active.
