How to Fundraise
A fundraising page will automatically be created for you at the time of registering. While fundraising is not required, read below how you can easily engage in this activity and make a significant contribution to the mission of CLL Society.
To navigate to your fundraising page, click the "My Page" icon link at the top of this event site. You can also use the email from CLL Society with a direct link to your fundraising page.
- Select if you would like to fundraise as an individual or join a team. A team can be comprised of two or more people.
- Customize your fundraising page with an image and a message.
- Share your fundraising page with friends and family to start raising money in support of the CLL/SLL community!
Tips for Fundraisers
CLL Society has prepared messages for you to easily share your participation in the Celebrating Long Lives 5K event with friends and family.
Remember that all donations go towards support the mission of CLL Society to improve the quality and longevity of the lives of all patients and care partners impacted by CLL/SLL.
Fundraiser Toolkit - Download Sharable Messages
1. Personalize your fundraising page
Include a photo of yourself and share why you are participating in the Celebrating Long Lives 5K.
Personalizing your fundraising page and including how CLL Society has made an impact in your life is a great way to show friends and family what their support means.
2. Set a goal amount you want to raise
Don’t be afraid to start small, you can always increase your goal as you go!
3. Make a donation
When you personally contribute to your own fundraising efforts, other people will see your dedication and be encouraged to donate themselves.
4. Use the "Share" button on your fundraising page
This feature helps you quickly and easily send your fundraising page to friends and family through social media, email, or text messages. This is also where you can copy the URL for your fundraising page to send through methods outside the event platform.
When you choose to share your fundraising page over email with the event platform, two reminder emails will automatically be scheduled to send to your contacts. You can turn these reminder emails off by navigating to your "Donors" page, selecting "Invited Contacts", clicking the three dots on the right side of a contact, and choosing "Cancel Reminders".
5. Share your fundraising page on social media
Use the event hashtags #CelebratingLongLives and #CLLS5K24. Tag @CLLSociety on Facebook, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn.
6. Have conversations in person with friends and family
Use social gatherings as an opportunity to raise awareness about your participation in the Celebrating Long Lives 5K and support of the CLL/SLL community.
However you choose to share your fundraising efforts, getting personal and sharing why supporting the CLL/SLL community matters to you can be a strong motivator for others to support the cause as well.
Thanking Your Donors
It is important to express your appreciation to everyone who contributes to your fundraising page. The "Donors" icon at the top of the event site shows you a list of people who have donated to your efforts.
Thanking your friends and family for their support can easily be done through one of the following ways:
- Personally reach out to them over text, email or phone.
- Using the event site, navigate to your list of donors by clicking the "Donor" icon, then the "Donations" list. Click the "Say Thanks" button next to an individual's name and a message box will appear. Personalize the prepared text and send off your thanks.
Fundraising Prizes
You have from the time you register until event day, May 11th, to raise funds for those impacted by CLL/SLL.
At the conclusion of the event, individuals can choose one prize at or below their fundraising level. Individuals are able to opt out of receiving a prize if they choose to.
