Changing Lives, One Birdie at a Time
The Birdie Blitz fuels the mission of PGA REACH Carolinas by turning every birdie into a chance to empower youth, support our military, and grow the game through inclusion. Together, we’re driving change—one birdie at a time.
What is the Birdie Blitz?
On November 3rd, teams of two will tee off at Pinewild Country Club of Pinehurst to raise funds for PGA REACH Carolinas. From 10 AM to 3 PM, teams will play as many par-3 holes as possible (estimated 36 holes in total) in a captain’s choice format—aiming to rack up birdies for a great cause. Teams are open to any two individuals - PGA Professionals, casual golfers, competitive amateurs - anyone!
How It Works
In the weeks leading up to the event, teams will share their fundraising pages and collect birdie pledges—donations made for every birdie they make during the Blitz.
Example: A $5 pledge per birdie x 20 birdies = a $100 donation.
Supporters can also choose to make a flat donation of any amount.

Last Year’s Impact
In our inaugural Birdie Blitz, we raised an incredible $86,000—thanks to the dedication of our teams and the generosity of our donors. Those funds directly supported PGA REACH Carolinas’ mission to positively impact lives through the game of golf by:
Providing scholarships and equipment to help youth access the game. In 2024, PGA REACH Carolinas was able to provide 542 children with scholarships and access to learn, play and love the game of golf.
Expanding PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), offering free golf programs to Veterans. In 2024, the Carolinas served 1,275 Veterans through 62 total HOPE sessions at 26 HOPE Chapters. Since 2015, 4,700+ Veterans have come to the game of golf through PGA HOPE Carolinas programs.
Advancing inclusion programs, giving individuals of all backgrounds opportunities to experience golf. In 2025, we will welcome our 9th Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellow to the Carolinas PGA Family. 100% of our PGA WORKS Fellows have successfully gained full-time employment in the golf industry after their fellowship!
Every swing mattered—and every donation made a real difference. Let’s build on that momentum in 2025!
