Our Mission

The Luminous Community Center is the socially engaged public art dream of Los Angeles native son, visual artist Nikolas Soren Goodich. It is a luminous pavilion made of glass, and at the same time it is a living community center, an interactive multi-use event space hosted in public parks. Its walls, doors, and ceiling are edge-lit glass paintings of highly abstracted gender, race, and age fluid profile portraits. They are you, me, everyone. Its short and long term social and economic impact will help transform historically marginalized and underfunded communities. A traveling installation, a broad range of events will be held there that will bring diverse peoples together, foster new connections, and inspire us all to build a better future. The Luminous Community Center is set to debut in 2028 in South Central Los Angeles, where it will be hosted for one year at The South Park Recreation Center, before traveling across the USA, and around the world.
