Every Mile Helps Create a Birthday Smile for a Homeless Child!
The Walk for Birthdays raises critical funds for Birthday Wishes to improve and empower the lives of homeless children and their families by providing joy, play and hope through the magic of a birthday party.
If you ask most kids what their favorite day of the year is, their birthday will most likely outshine all other celebrations. The feeling of excitement and the anticipation of a party brings back some of our fondest childhood memories. However, for children experiencing homelessness, this important childhood rite of passage is often overlooked.
Register and start fundraising today to help ensure a homeless child knows the day they were born is a day to be celebrated.
Fitness and fun focused fundraising for all ages. Join as an individual or as part of a team to walk, hike, run or cycle April 15th - May 20th.
How it Works:
1. Click "Register" at the top of the page
Team Captains: Click 'Register' and then 'Create a Team'
Team Members & Individuals: Click 'Register' and then 'Join a Team' to find your team or click "Fundraise on my Own"
2. Estimate how many miles you’ll run, walk, bike, swim, ski, and/or hike from April 15th to May 20th. Whether it's 10, 50, or 500 miles, there's no amount too big or small.
3. Reach out to friends and family to ask if they’ll support your efforts by donating to you! They can make a pledge per mile or donate a flat amount to your efforts.
4. Log your miles daily by connecting your Strava account or log them manually directly through the email reminders you receive.
5. Keep an eye on the community tab to see how and what others are doing to support Birthday Wishes.

How to Donate
Click the button labeled “Donate” at the top of the page. Before you continue, you'll need to decide if you'd like to support an individual participant, a team or make a general donation.
To donate to the event, you'll click the "Make a general donation" button. Choose a recommended donation amount or enter a custom amount.
To donate to an individual participant, you'll type their name into the search bar and click the "Continue" button. For individual participants, you'll have the choice to make a pledge per mile (recommended dollar amounts will be automatically generated for you based on the individual’s or team’s total estimated miles) or to make a one-time flat donation.
To donate to a team, you'll type their team name into the search bar and click the "Continue" button. You can also donate to an individual who is also on a team. That donation will count toward both the individual's fundraising goal, and the team's larger fundraising goal.
Birthday Wishes is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status and your donation will be tax exempt as applicable by law.
