This goal reflects the urgent need to accelerate pediatric cancer research—especially when 41 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every single day.
Be a part of innovation that saves lives. Join us in accepting the LaCROSSe Out Cancer® Challenge!
Massachussetts Youth Lacrosse has joined forces with the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation to address an urgent need to fund childhood cancer research. Forty-one (41)* children are diagnosed each day with cancer in the US, and more children under 20 are lost to cancer than any other disease. Research is expensive and progress is limited by a lack of resources. The largest single funder of research, the federal government, directs just 4% of its cancer research budget to advancing lifesaving treatments for kids. Caring communities like ours can help fill the gap.
*The NIH’s 2024 estimates show 41 children per day will be diagnosed with cancer in the U.S.—a step in the right direction from the previously reported 47.
We are grateful to Mass Youth Lacrosse for embracing our LaCROSSe Out Challenge in support of children fighting cancer! Thank you for leading the way.
"Mass Youth Lacrosse was excited to start a partnership with the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation in 2022. We wanted to develop a program that brought together our players, teams and communities to support a charitable initiative. After my first conversation with Bonnie and the team at PCRF I knew they were the perfect fit. Kids helping kids! We created a challenge to get kids out to practice lacrosse leading up to the start of the season that included a fundraising initiative for PCRF, LaCROSSe Out Cancer! We set a lofty fundraising goal of $30,000 and the players, teams and towns responded by raising over $32,000. It was great to see the fundraising competition between towns that drove the number higher. Over the years we have raised over $100,000 and we are very excited to build upon this for 2026, and we have set our fundraising goal at $41,000 for the 41 kids in America every day that are diagnosed with cancer. I hope other lacrosse programs across the country will join us in accepting the LaCROSSe Out Cancer Challenge!
