Help RCR support rowing in Richmond!
October 15th - October 29th
Since 2016, RCR has worked towards a goal of bringing the sport we love to those who have never had the opportunity to experience it. We strive to expand the rowing community through our various programs like youth, adaptive, and indoor rowing.
Our goal is to create more community access to rowing and water sports for Richmond. Fundraising through this campaign will helps our project to build a fully ADA compliant dock, expand our programming so we can continue to offer programming scholarships and coaching to all our athletes and support our fund to build a new boathouse.
How it works
Click "Sign Up" at the top of the page.
Two options will appear. If you plan to go solo click "Fundraise on my Own". If you plan to team up, click "Create A Team" if you are the first person to register. If someone else has already created your team, click "Join A Team."
Estimate how many meters you’ll be rowing, walking, riding or running from October 15th - October 29th. Whether it's 50, 500, or 5000 meters, there's no amount too big or small!
Reach out to friends and family to ask if they’ll support your efforts by donating to you! They can make a pledge per meter or donate a flat amount to support your efforts.
Log your meters by connecting your Strava account or log them manually directly through the reminder emails you get.
Keep an eye on the leaderboards to see how your friends and competitors are doing!
About Us
The mission of Richmond Community Rowing (RCR) is to actively make rowing and other water sports available to the community regardless of background, ability, or experience.
RCR was formally founded in 2016 in hopes of expanding the sport we love, rowing, to those who have never had the opportunity to experience it. We currently partner with the VCU Crew Team, the University of Richmond Crew Team, the Virginia Boat Club, Sportable, and the City of Richmond to provide and facilitate our programs. We offer adaptive programs, competitive programs, high school rowing, development camps, corporate rows, and veteran’s rowing.
RCR is striving to grow the rowing community every day. Part of that expansion includes more programs. We hope to partner with Richmond Public Schools in an effort to reach Richmond City Kids. We plan to grow our fleet and begin our Boathouse Initiative to provide a better space for our athletes to row. We look to be a leading organization for river recreation and accessibility in RVA.
