About World Down Syndrome Day
Every year on March 21st, people all over the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing bright, fun, silly socks. The date is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have three copies of their twenty-first chromosome, and socks were chosen because the Ds chromosomes look like mismatched socks.
This year, VDSA has added Classroom Kits to our sock offerings to help teachers, PTAs/PTOs, parents, and loved ones teach students in Preschool through High School about Down syndrome awareness and inclusion.
