About Birda
Birda is a niche social app that turns the discovery and exploration of birdlife and the outdoors into a game by using challenges, leaderboards and fun badges. Birda amplifies the birdwatching experience and helps people discover and learn more about birds, connect to nature, and improve their well-being - all while helping conservation. Cool, right?
Download the app at birda.org.
Birda was considered ‘App of the Day’ in 148 countries by Apple in 2023.

About FBC
Feminist Bird Club aims to make birding and the outdoors safe, accessible, affirming and joyful to everyone—especially for those who haven’t historically had equitable access to the outdoors. Equally crucial is the group’s mission to amplify grassroots solutions for sustainable change on a planet actively in the midst of reprehensible humanitarian crises and anthropogenic climate change.

Meet the Speakers: Sarah
Sarah Cunningham [she/her] is Birda’s Community Engagement Officer. In true Bird Nerd fashion, Sarah’s free time is spent walking around nature reserves, binoculars at the ready. Sarah’s interest in the natural world began early and with a particular passion for birds, she desired a career that would get her closer to our feathered friends. Working as a Ranger at a busy country park, to finishing her finals whilst working as a Ranger on the Farne Islands (A seabird colony off the coast of England), she jumped at the opportunity for an internship with Birda. At Birda, Sarah has a variety of tasks; managing the Birda Ambassador Scheme, blogs, some social media, answering Birder questions on the Website Chatbox, managing user feedback and is also a key member of the Bird Police! A passionate birder who loves talking to other passionate birders!

Meet the Speakers: Francisco
Francisco Fonseca [he/him] is Birda’s Senior Marketing Manager. As a keen surfer, the majority of Francisco’s time in nature has always been spent in or by the ocean. A career that includes a myriad of industries, from manufacturing, to education, to work in the charity sector, Francisco has spent the last few years looking to do work that has a positive impact. At Birda, Francisco spends his days with bird nerds and nature loving engineers working on ways to help you get off the sofa, see more birds, have more fun, and spend more time in nature.
