Join us for the 2023 Greater Charlotte Buddy Walk on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Kannapolis Cannonballer Ballpark!

Since 1995, the Buddy Walk® has been the premier advocacy event for Down syndrome in the United States. It is also the world’s most widely recognized public awareness program for the Down syndrome community. The Buddy Walk® attracts thousands of participants from coast to coast each year.

A day of inspiration and celebration, the walk brings together the Down syndrome community all while raising funds to support the mission of Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte. DSA of Greater Charlotte is a one-stop-shop for information and resources on Down syndrome. The programs it offers are intended to promote the inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome in their greater community, as well as to offer support and information to families, caregivers, educators, employers and the professionals who serve individuals with Down syndrome.

Registering for the Buddy Walk is easy as 1-2-3!

1. Sign Up

All participants attending the walk must be registered. This helps our team get an accurate headcount for the event. Click on the Register button above to sign up yourself and any family or friends that will be joining you.

Each team member can decide if they wish to fundraise or not. In order to JOIN an existing team, you must Opt-In to Fundraise. While every little bit DSAGC receives goes toward amazing programs, we recognize for some that the fundraising element can be daunting. We want everyone to feel welcome to participate in spreading awareness on October 22nd by walking with their team!

2. Customize Your Online Fundraising Page

You'll be prompted to create a team page or join a team during registration, and can update your page at any time. We recommend customizing your personal fundraising page by editing the message and adding a unique photo. You can do this anytime and as many times as you like by clicking "Edit Page" while logged in.

3. Spread the Word

Once your personal fundraising page has been set up, you can send emails to your friends and family by clicking "Share" then "Share via Email or Text". The emails will provide a direct link to your personal page where your friends and family can make a donation on your behalf. We've even written some sample emails to help get you started!

If you are unable to attend the Buddy Walk, you can still support us by making a charitable donation to help support the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte by clicking on the Donate button at the top of the page.

For additional assistance, please email Vicki Coles at victoria.coles@dsa-gc.org or call 704-536-2163
