Forest Park Nature Walk - Lower Macleay

Friday, June 12, 2026

Join the Autism Society of Oregon, Portland Parks and Recreation, and the Bird Alliance of Oregon for a scenic stroll through the beautiful natural surroundings of Forest Park.

The walk begins at 11:00 AM. Participants may use a free shuttle service with four pickup locations throughout the Portland area (details below). Parking at the trailhead is limited, so using the shuttle is encouraged.

Spend Time in Nature - Connect with Others - Enjoy Community

Our Autism Nature Walks are designed to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where Autistic individuals can explore the outdoors alongside others. Guided by our walk leader, participants will move together as a group while enjoying conversation, nature, and shared experiences.

This walk is intended for Autistic individuals ages 15 and older. Participants are welcome to attend independently or with a support person if helpful. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible caregiver for the duration of the event. All participants must register.

We look forward to walking with you!

Our Guide - Oregon Naturalist - Natalie

Each guided Nature Walk is limited to 25 participants.
Advance registration is required but registration/participation is FREE.

Our walk leader will be Natalie, an Oregon Naturalist who will guide the group throughout the walk and share information about the surrounding environment, plants, wildlife, and trails along the way. Natalie helps create a welcoming and supportive experience while checking in with the group throughout the hike to help maintain a comfortable and inclusive environment for participants.
