Fun-Raiser at the Denver Zoo!
We have a new name and a new location for our 2026 fundraising event but with the same mission. Be part of honoring all Coloradans living with Spina Bifida. Form a Team or Join a Team for our 2026 Fun-Raiser. We ask all attendees who are planning to join us at the Denver Zoo to either donate or fundraise $25 per attendee in order for us to better track and distribute tickets.

This Fun-Raiser is still our largest gathering of the Spina Bifida Association of Colorado community, typically over 150 people, with families coming from all over Colorado as well as Wyoming, Nebraska, Arizona, South Dakota and New Mexico. This event is designed to build the local Colorado community and raise financial support for people living with Spina Bifida and SBACO. This is our only fundraiser of the year.
Did you know....that we receive no State or Federal funding, nor funding from the Spina Bifida Association; we rely only on personal donations, sponsorships, and occasional grants. We couldn't do what we do without your donations and the sponsors who support us.
The Colorado SBACO works to make a practical, positive difference every day, helping to improve outreach so our community can enjoy life to the fullest and expect a better future.

What is Spina Bifida?
Spina Bifida is a neural tube birth defect that happens when the spinal column does not form properly. People with Spina Bifida may be minimally affected or may face multiple complications throughout their life. It is the most common permanently disabling birth defect in the US, impacting 177,000 individuals.
Colorado Facts
Approximately 3.5 in every 10,000 births results in a Spina Bifida diagnosis.
Approximately 1,700 of those people live in Colorado.
The cost of lifetime care for people with Spina Bifida in Colorado is $1,000,000 though it can often exceed $1,600,000,000.
