This year on Opening Day, we’re bringing back our Home Run Derby fundraiser with a high-speed twist. Invite friends and family to support the sport and the association you love. In every division, the highest-earning team wins an ice cream party sponsored by Loard's Orinda and the highest-earning player wins baseball gear.
Two Easy Ways to Support:
1. Make a Direct Donation
Give any amount to support OBA and its players.
OR
2. Make a Pledge
Pledge an amount based on a player’s home runs on Opening Day. (Max. 7 home runs)
For example: $20 per home run.
How the 2026 Home Run Derby Works:
Each player gets 7 hits off a tee. A radar gun measures the ball’s speed and height. Ground balls do not count. To count as a home run, the ball must meet the required exit velocity for the player’s OBA division.
Home Run Exit Velocity Requirements:
Pinto & Softball A Minors: 30 mph
Mustang & Softball AA Minors : 35 mph
Bronco & Softball AAA Minors: 45 mph
Pony: 55 mph
