About the Tournament
Join us for Drew's Doubles, a charity volleyball tournament in memory of Drew Tranchina who passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in 2018.
Drew was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in September of 2017, and passed away just 4 months later. Unfortunately his battle was not an outlier, as the disease has a 24% 1-year survival rate, and a 12% 5-year survival rate. Project Purple exists to fight back against this dreaded disease, both in funding research towards early detection, and providing financial assistance to affected families.
Although my Dad didn't play volleyball, he would love everything that this tournament stands for: togetherness, community, friendly competition, and a day in the sun with friends and family.
All proceeds from this event will be matched and donated to Project Purple, a charity with a mission to beat Pancreatic Cancer.

Tournament Info
Cost: $50 per doubles team ($25 per person)
Venmo: @Andrew-Tranchina - all donations will be pooled and matched and will go directly to Project Purple
Format:
2 on 2 Pool play (play each team in your pool once) - games to 21 (no cap in OT) followed by single elimination playoff games to 28 (no cap in OT).

Gender: All are welcome!
Skill Level: Competitive Doubles, most participants will be AA/A/BB level - all are welcome.
*An email will be sent out the night before the tournament with the pools and schedule.
We realize the 2v2 format is not for everyone. So this year, we will also be setting up 1-2 additional nets for recreational pick-up games in case anyone wants to come spend the day with us, and enjoy some casual games. These nets will be up all day and open to anyone who wants to come hang out and support the cause (donation optional).
