How Your Support in the Challenge Makes a Difference

The Michael C. McHugh Memorial Foundation (MCM Fund) supports families who have lost a child to cancer. The Fund helps ensure that families are afforded the opportunity to make difficult end-of-life decisions based on the family's traditions and beliefs, regardless of their income.

The MCM Fund helps families with children in hospice, or immediately after they have lost a child, to support their non-medical end-of-life decisions such as memorial and funeral expenses, bereavement support as well as clothing, food, etc.

The MCM Fund was created in 2017 in honor of Michael C. McHugh, a Milton boy, who died at the age of 13 after a 15-month battle with cancer. To learn more, please visit www.mcmstrong.org

How Does it Work?

15,590 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year. Our goal is to accumulate 15,590 jumping jacks in September to honor each and every child.

How many jumping jacks do you think you can do in a month? Pledge your jumping jacks for the month of September, either alone or with friends, to raise awareness and funds to support families whose lives were permanently impacted by cancer.

Register here!

Registration is $25 per person and includes a Milton Glows Gold soft cotton t-shirt. The maximum per family registration fee is $75. If your family will exceed this total please send an email to mcmstrong@gmail.com and we will help you register without exceeding the maximum.

We do not want money to be a barrier to participation and we would be more than happy to help - if you want help please email mcmstrong@gmail.com.

When you register you will:

  • Make a jumping jack pledge for the month of September
  • Decide if you want to do it alone or if you want to join/create a team
  • Share with your friends and family

You Are Making a Difference

This year, we are hosting Glow Gold in loving memory of Emily L. Butt, who passed away on February 27, 2024, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on May 19, 2015, Emily's vibrant spirit and infectious smile were a gift to all who knew her during her precious eight years of life.

Most importantly, take a moment and appreciate what you are doing to help families when they need it most. Just getting involved and knowing more about childhood cancer makes a difference. YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE.
