Our Mission
The Hawks Baseball Program is proud to partner with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to host Hawks X-Out Cancer: Together for Teddie — a community walk-a-thon and cornhole tournament supporting the fight against childhood cancer, with proceeds benefiting The Jimmy Fund.
Teddie was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor at a young age. Through multiple rounds of chemotherapy and brain surgery, she has shown extraordinary courage, strength, and resilience—continuing to inspire her family, our players, and everyone who knows her.
Since 2024, Hawks Baseball players and families have raised $13,622 to support childhood cancer research. Funds raised through this event will support Teddie’s doctor, Dr. Pratiti (Mimi) Bandopadhayay, Director of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Pediatric Low-Grade Glioma Program, through The Jimmy Fund. Dr. Bandopadhayay leads groundbreaking research focused on pediatric brain tumors like the one Teddie is battling. This research is largely made possible through philanthropic support and serves as the foundation for developing potential new therapies and improving outcomes for children facing these rare and complex cancers. By supporting this work, donors are directly contributing to advancements in treatment, expanding scientific understanding, and bringing hope to families affected by childhood cancer.
We invite you to join us Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 12:00–4:00 PM at Xaverian Brothers High School on the football field. Participants can raise money through the walk-a-thon, compete or play in cornhole games and a cornhole tournament, and enjoy opportunity drawings, silent auctions, and other family-friendly activities throughout the day.
While Teddie’s journey is at the heart of this fundraiser, our mission extends beyond one child. By coming together as a community—walking, playing, and supporting—we can help drive progress toward better treatments and, ultimately, cures for all children battling cancer.
Join us for a meaningful day of community, competition, and hope as we work together to X-Out Cancer.
