Every child deserves a good pair of shoes
That's why the Association community is coming together to ensure that students experiencing homelessness in DMV area public schools have a new pair of high-quality, well-fitting shoes for the upcoming school year. New shoes give kids the opportunity to participate more fully in school and free up resources their caregivers can use for other necessities.

What is Soles4theDistrict?
Soles4theDistrict is an Association led fundraising campaign to provide over 10,000 kids experiencing homelessness in Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland with new shoes for the upcoming school year.

Why give shoes to kids without homes?
While many organizations are focused on the critical needs of food and shelter, school officials tell us shoes are essential for students to succeed in school.
A good pair of shoes can change a child’s future.
Kids who receive new shoes have more confidence, attend school more regularly, and are more physically active.
