About Bobby Lasken and the SCPGA Alumni Association
Bobby Lasken is one of Southern California’s most respected golf instructors and player development leaders, with deep roots in the region’s junior golf community. A Southern California junior golfer himself, Bobby enjoyed a storied playing career before transitioning into teaching—winning the California State Junior Championship, the California High School Championship at Pebble Beach, and the National High School Individual Championship in Kentucky. He went on to become an All-American at UCLA and served as team captain for the Bruins’ 1988 NCAA Championship team. Let's celebrate his lifelong connection to Southern California golf and commitment to developing players at every level.
About The SCPGA Jr Tour Alumni Association
The SCPGA Junior Tour Alumni Association brings together past players for fun and casual tournaments that celebrate the shared experience of junior golf. It’s a chance to reconnect, compete, and build lasting bonds across generations of alumni. Every dollar from this event directly supports the SCPGA Foundation’s Grants and Scholarships Pillar. Your contribution helps remove financial barriers for current junior tour members whose families need assistance covering tournament entry fees—ensuring that talent and passion, not financial means, determine a young golfer’s opportunity to compete.
Event Format
Event Format The competition will feature an 18-hole putting contest held on the newly opened 20,000-square-foot Putting Course. Following the opening round, the four lowest scores will advance to a match-play style playoff, where they will compete head-to-head to determine the event champion. The event will also include a special “Beat Blockie” Challenge—any participant who beats Michael Block’s putting score will earn a special prize and ultimate bragging rights.
