Sheehan - Team Paul

Paul Voegelin joined Sheehan in 2017 as our Chief Operating Officer and was an invaluable member of the Firm’s management team. Along with his wonderful family, wife Oriente and daughters Sabrina and Tiana, we mourn his passing on December 2, 2024 following a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.

Paul brought energy, insight, compassion and integrity to his work, and he had a profound effect on the Firm and everyone with whom he interacted. Paul loved his work and cared deeply about his colleagues. We are so much the better because of him.

Before joining the Firm, Paul worked for decades in various industries, including biotechnology. He brought to the Firm new ideas and perspectives. He often challenged the Firm to think differently about problems, and to approach opportunity for growth and change optimistically.

Consistent with the Firm’s core value of community involvement, Paul got involved outside the office. He was a member of Leadership New Hampshire (Class of 2022), served on the board of the Farnum Center for several years, and later served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors, Easterseals New Hampshire.

Paul left a powerful legacy of excellence, humility and good humor. He was an extraordinary man who will be greatly missed, though he endures in each of us who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him.

Shortly after Paul’s passing, the Firm established the Paul E. Voegelin Stewardship Award. The annual Sheehan recipient of this award receives the “Voegelin Cup,” a fittingly classic, Waterford Crystal.

We have established this charitable effort in Paul Voegelin’s memory for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, adult brain tumor care and research.  The goal is to raise $25,000 through a variety of challenging activities.

These efforts include:

On August 12th, Chris Candon and Dave McGrath hiked the @30 mile pemi-loop in one day (see photos below).

Rob Miller is training for a marathon.

Mike Lambert will be soaking in an outdoor ice bath every day during the month of January.

These are just a few of the challenging activities that Paul's Sheehan family will engage in to raise money and awareness in his memory to support those fighting brain cancer.
