2024 Giving Campaign

Your year-end gift can help us build on our successes and tackle the challenges that lie ahead. Any amount you intend to give will directly support our efforts to provide education, advocacy, and research for CAH.

$125 raised

In 2024, CARES Foundation had achieved multiple milestones that would not have been possible without your support. Our advocacy efforts have increased awareness, ensuring that the voices of patients and families are heard.

We launched our podcast, CAH Pulse, which highlights the experiences of patients, family members, medical professionals, researchers and caregivers in this incredible community. The podcast has reached thousands of patients and families, as well as professionals working to develop new treatments.

We provided numerous scholarships for families to attend our annual patient education conference, providing them with vital information and resources to help navigate the complexities of CAH.

We also translated the PACE app (Preventing Adrenal Crisis Events) into Spanish to better serve our community.

The most significant milestone for CARES this year was the Externally Led Patient-Focused Drug Development (EL-PFDD) meeting. This was a unique opportunity for the CAH community to share what daily living with CAH looks like, and the impact it can have, with those members of the FDA who are responsible for approving clinical trials, new medications and medical devices. Patient voices were loud and clear during this meeting; participants were not shy about sharing what daily living with CAH is like, and the need for better treatment options.

Thank you for your continued support and belief in our mission. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year!

Externally Led Patient-Focused Drug Development (EL-PFDD)

We are incredibly grateful to all who participated in the Externally Led Patient-Focused Drug Development meeting on classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) with the FDA. Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) is a systematic approach to help ensure that patients’ experiences, perspectives, needs, and priorities are captured and meaningfully incorporated into drug development and evaluation.

This small, but powerful community made sure that the voices of the patients and caregivers were heard loud and clear.

If you had missed an opportunity to watch this meeting, it is available for viewing at https://caresfoundation.org/externally-led-patient-focused-drug-development-el-pfdd/.
