Chris and I have been by each other’s side since we were just 14 years old. Back then, we were just kids ourselves, dreaming of the day we’d start a family and build a life together. When that time finally came, our journey wasn’t easy—we struggled with fertility, making the moment we finally found out we were expecting our baby boy feel like the ultimate blessing.

However, during the pregnancy, we received a diagnosis that, at first, felt scary. We didn’t know what to expect, and our knowledge of Down syndrome was limited. That is when the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas stepped in. They provided us with the resources, community, and hope we didn’t even know we needed yet.

We can tell you without a doubt: Isaac is the best thing that has ever happened to us.

Anyone who knows Isaac knows his magic. He is spunky, smart, and has a laugh so contagious it can brighten the darkest day. He loves playing outside with his friends and is a total "one-in-a-Minion" kind of kid!

We never imagined our life would take this specific path, but we are so incredibly grateful it did. Isaac has opened our eyes to a new world—one where we see clearly how much every individual deserves to be seen, respected, and loved for exactly who they are.

Why we are walking: We are raising $500 to give back to the Guild that supported us. Your donation helps ensure that families like ours have the resources they need and that Isaac grows up in a world that celebrates him.
