Support my team in the Great Wisconsin Birdathon!

Hello friends! Our FBC-Madison chapter is back as team Yes We Pelican! and we're excited for another fun Birdathon. When you support our team, you're supporting the volunteer work our chapter does in the birding community to foster inclusivity and bird joy, as well as the Bird Protection Fund, which funds Wisconsin's highest priority bird conservation projects. This year our chapter is splitting our funds 50/50 between the Bird Protection Fund and Save Our Songbirds, helping impact birds both statewide and in our backyards. It's a win-win!

Your support would mean a lot to me. Birds have made an incredible difference in my life and I want to protect them. Every dollar counts when it comes to helping our birds, so no donation is too small. Thank you for considering!

P.S. The Hermit Thrush in my cover photo will judge you harshly if you don't support our team!

That's a wrap! I'm reporting in for team Yes We Pelican! as we completed our fifth annual Birdathon on Sunday, May 11th. Our Feminist Bird Club chapter held five group birding across town, with over 50+ people participating throughout the day! We also had some dedicated members birding further afield to help contribute to the count. Collectively, our chapter saw 130 species on our Birdathon day! 🔥

Birding highlights included getting excellent looks at both Black-throated Blue Warbler and Blackburnian Warbler, seeing a Cooper's Hawk on a nest (appropriate for Mother's Day!), and ending the day with a Barred Owl.

We also surpassed our fundraising goal and raised over $2,500! 🎉 50% of our funds will be supporting SOS Save Our Songbirds, an incredible group empowering individuals to make small but impactful changes that help birds, the rest will go to the Bird Protection Fund.

Thank you so much to everyone who birded with us or left a donation to cheer us on! We appreciate your support - it's all #ForTheBirds!

Your Donation Makes a Difference For Birds

Donations made to the Great Wisconsin Birdathon support the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin’s Bird Protection Fund, which has given out over $1.4 million towards Wisconsin’s highest priority bird conservation projects since its inception in 2009.

Whether it's creating Piping Plover habitat, rearing Whooping Crane chicks, spreading awareness about declining songbirds, supporting community initiatives for bird-friendly neighborhoods, engaging new and underrepresented voices in the birding community, building impactful collaborations to protect Wisconsin's Important Bird Areas, or protecting our neotropical migrants on their long migratory journeys to Central America... the Bird Protection Fund is there to help.

Your donations make this work possible. Thank you for supporting on-the-ground conservation and being there #ForTheBirds!
