Meet the LT100 Run DreamChaser

2021 was the inaugural year for a new Dream Chaser to show us what was possible in the LT100 Run. As a 9-time finisher of the LT100 Run and 8 time Lead Challenge competitor, local Leadville stone mason, Rodrigo Jimenez, was just the guy to do it. Rodrigo decided he wanted to try this ‘back of the pack’ challenge to help the Legacy Foundation. To add a little more pressure, he didn’t just start last, he decided to start his race at sunup - 2 1⁄2 hours after all the other runners started the race.

A serious bike accident in June 2022 put his Dream Chaser plans in jeopardy, but in true Rodrigo style he didn’t let a collapse lung or a few broken ribs stop him. He credits much of his racing success to his wife Gloria and sons Eddy, Fabian and Alexander, who not only support him through all his training, but who are out there as his crew on race day.

Rodrigo’s Dream Chaser Stats Through The Years:

  • 2021: 660 racers passed (finished 6th overall chip time) = $83,000 raised
  • 2022: 657 racers passed = $60,000 raised.
  • 2023: 740 racers passed = $133,000 raised.
