In 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, I co-founded The Bridge International with my friend and co-worker, Kathy Nunez, in a response to wanting to better bridge the gaps in services that exist for survivors of human trafficking.

After several years in the anti-trafficking movement, we knew that there were significant gaps in services for survivors of human trafficking. Some of these gaps include housing that is truly trauma-informed, services that are non-discriminatory and celebrate individuals of all identities and backgrounds, and overall a lack of resources.

In order for us to continue to serve survivors of human trafficking, we must continue to raise funds.

For my 31st birthday I am committed to hiking, biking and kayaking a total of 31 miles in 31 hours to raise awareness and fund-raise for The Bridge International on April 15th-16th. We can bridge gaps in the anti-trafficking movement despite what industry we work in or what our interests/skills are.

Through this fundraiser I will be showing how we can bridge the gaps between the anti-trafficking field and outdoor sports, all while tying in the areas I am recreating on to awareness of human trafficking. There is a seat at the table for everyone, will you come alongside me over the next few weeks to spread awareness and raise money for survivors of human trafficking?
