My Birdathon Adventure
I'm excited to join the Cope Environmental Center's Birdathon for 2023! Cope Environmental Center is a non-profit nature center in Centerville, Indiana. Their programs offer hands on sustainability and nature-based opportunities for all ages. Their mission is very important to me and I'm proud to help them make a difference. Oh, and my nephew is on their Board. Please support me by giving to my page. Every dollar counts! Thank you.

Thanks to all my supporters for making this CEC Birdathon a great success. I was fortunate in getting out with several really great birders during the month, covering fields, wetlands, forests and tidal waters of the James River and Chesapeake Bay. Besides all of the backyard birds I was able to attract to my feeders, I really enjoyed finding so many different species. Highlights included helping to rescue/rehab a barn swallow with a broken wing, seeing and identifying several beautiful warblers, including the colorful Prothonotary Warbler, and watching 50 or more Brown Pelicans and a dozen or so Snowy Egrets on an artificial island at the mouth of the James. Oh, and we saw several dolphins on that trip.
Even though I used to see Bald Eagles almost every day when we lived on Maryland's Eastern Shore, I still get excited to spot them. They didn't disappoint this month!
So thanks again for all of your generous support!
