Team Apawamis - Golf Marathon

On August 21st, 2023, Team Apawamis including Deuayne Crawford (CSF '06), Craig Stewart, Michael Phillips and Wendell Johnson will take the formidable challenge to play as many holes of golf as possible in one day at the Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, New York. From sun up to sun down, they will look to raise money and awareness for the Metropolitan Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund (CSF). Deuayne will be playing in his 12th golf marathon in a row this year!

In past years, we celebrated the current scholarship recipients and Deuayne’s (CSF alumnus) career and educational success, which Deuayne today gives much credit to years of mentorship, sponsorship and scholarship through golf in Westchester and the great people at the Apawamis Club. Respect and love for Apawamis. We still celebrate the late Peter Phillips, Deuayne’s father who was an avid supporter of the CSF and a caddie favorite at Apawamis. We still show respects to all of our cherished people who are not here today but left us with good memories and good examples for us to follow. We continue to celebrate brotherhood, education, mentorship and positivity.

Thank you again for those who have been committed to the scholarship recipients. Deuayne continues to testify about his positive experiences including how he recently became a board member and chair of the Alumni Committee of the CSF.

To support our efforts, you can pledge any flat amount or pledge for each hole of golf we play. For example, if you pledge $1 per hole for a team member and that member completes 100 holes, that’s $100 towards the WGA Caddie Scholarship Fund. It will be a fun, but challenging day and your backing will help keep us going! The MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund is one of the largest organizations of its kind. The Caddie Scholarship Fund provides need-based scholarships to young men and women in service to golf at participating clubs. The CSF awards an average of 280 scholars a year representing a one year tuition commitment of $1.0 million. The Metropolitan Golf Association is one of the nation’s oldest and largest golf associations.  Since 1897, the MGA has dedicated itself to serving golf in the Metropolitan Area and providing golfers with a wide range of services and programs.

Thank you!
