My Mission
Birds enrich our world so much. But they need our help! North America has lost over 3 billion birds since the 1970s. By donating to my page, you're supporting all of the great local bird conservation work of Madison Audubon as well as the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin's Bird Protection Fund, which funds bird conservation projects throughout Wisconsin.
I'd be honored to have your support. Bird conservation is the cause most important to me, so I'm always eager to help bring in funding to support birds and their habitats.
Every dollar counts, and no donation is too small, but, as an added bonus, I'll offer a personal guided bird walk in the Madison area to each person making a donation of $100 or more.
Thank you for helping me reach my goal!

The Madison Audubon office staff Birdathon team, the Fair Meadowlarks, held our Birdathon on May 23 to visit and explore the Fair Meadows State Natural Area. Most of the migrants had moved through and it was a HOT day, so our numbers were down, but we had a wonderful time exploring Fair Meadows and we found a team total of 78 species. (I found 75).
A few fun moments included watching a family of Bald Eagles on a nest, spotting Savannah Sparrows and soaring Ospreys, and listening to a Virginia rail, lots of singing Sedge Wrens and Willow Flycatchers.
I headed out at the end of the day to explore a few Madison area spots to make sure I reached my personal goal. My last birds of the night (#74 and #75) were a Henslow's Sparrow and Yellow-billed Cuckoo--great birds to close out the day!
Thanks so much to all who supported me for this fundraiser!

Your Donation Makes a Difference For Birds
Donations made to the Great Wisconsin Birdathon support the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin’s Bird Protection Fund, which has given out over $1.3 million towards Wisconsin’s highest priority bird conservation projects since its inception in 2009.
Whether it's creating Piping Plover habitat, rearing Whooping Crane chicks, spreading awareness about Connecticut Warblers, supporting community initiatives for bird-friendly neighborhoods, engaging new and underrepresented voices in the birding community, building impactful collaborations to protect Wisconsin's Important Bird Areas, or protecting our neotropical migrants on their long migratory journeys to Central America... the Bird Protection Fund is there to help.
Your donations make this work possible. Thank you for supporting on-the-ground conservation and being there #ForTheBirds!
